The objective of the work was to verify the engineering geological and hydrogeological conditions along the route of a newly proposed 12.9 km long road near Vysoké Mýto and Choceň.

As part of the investigation, 42 core boreholes were drilled to depths of 6-16 meters using wheeled and tracked rigs, 3 of which were equipped as wells for hydrogeological purposes. Additionally, 23 penetration tests were carried out, including heavy dynamic penetration tests (DPH) and static penetration tests with electrical data acquisition and pore pressure measurement (CPTU) to depths of 2-16 meters. The penetration tests were performed using MRZB and Pagani TG63-150 tracked rigs. The investigation work was supplemented by sampling of soil, rock, and groundwater from the boreholes, pumping and infiltration tests in the boreholes, a pedological survey, a corrosion survey, and a geophysical survey – a combination of shallow refraction seismics and dipole resistivity profiling.
