Preliminary engineering geological survey for the Due Diligence of the Ostrava Tower building project. The construction site is located in the historically industrial part of Moravská Ostrava, at the site of the former Karolina coke plant and mine. As part of the survey, 2 exploratory core drillings were carried out to a depth of 70 meters, reaching the Carboniferous bedrock, and 1 drilling for the TRT test to a depth of 150 meters. The work included pressuremeter tests in the drillings, laboratory tests of soil and rock mechanics, groundwater analysis, corrosion survey, and radon survey. As part of the evaluation, a 3D model of the Carboniferous massif was developed, including the course of old mining works.
